For everyday shopping there are a number of shops and stores in downtown Felton, both along Highway 9 and in a small shopping center at the corner of Graham Hill Road and Mount Hermon Road. Additional shopping centers with a number of major chain stores such as Safe Way, Longs Drugs, K-mart, and Wallgreens are just a few minutes away in Scotts Valley on Mount Hermon Road. There is also a Costco in Santa Cruz at 220 Sylvania Avenue near the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 1, and a very popular shopping spot is the Capitola Mall, located on 41st Avenue just off Highway 1 at Capitola Road in Capitola. The mall itself has four major department stores, Macy's, Gottschalks, Mervyn's and Sears, and over 100 specialty shops and restaurants and there are additional small shopping centers and stores around the mall. For shopping diversity and truly unique, one-of-a-kind items of character and personality there are two highly recommended shopping spots... Pacific Garden Mall and Capitola Village. Pacific Garden Mall Located on Pacific Avenue in downtown Santa Cruz the Pacific Garden Mall can be described as a open air mall with great outdoor shopping and dining. It has something for everyone. Featuring an eclectic collection of shops, galleries, boutiques, book shops, restaurants and more, the open air mall extends for several blocks with wide, tree lined sidewalks. There are a number of nighttime entertainment establishments on and around the Pacific Garden Mall such as the Blue Lagoon, the Catalyst, and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. For parking there are several parking garages located around the mall in addition to a few parking lots and street parking. Capitola Village Capitola Village offers numerous craft galleries, boutiques, and casual little restaurants ideal for family dining. For this small village, dining choices are pretty varied from great hamburgers, to Mexican food, Indian cuisine, and seafood. There is night time entertainment at some of the establishments in the village. Location is on and around San Jose Avenue near the coast in the heart of Capitola. |
